For our one-night stay, the 2-bedroom lodge at this hotel was perfect. It provided a comfortable room, sitting area, and a kitchen. The Yarde Orchard cafe on the property served delicious and well-priced breakfast and evening meals. We could even store our bikes in a covered structure with a locking cable. The location was ideal for cycling the Tarka Trail, and the nearby town had all the necessities. The hotel grounds were well-maintained with beautiful flowers and a nice camping area.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The 3-Bed Lodge offers a comfortable and spacious bunkhouse experience, ideal for a family escape. It is conveniently located right next to the Tarka Trail, allowing for easy access to outdoor activities such as cycling and walking. The lodge itself is described as very clean and beautiful, with aesthetically pleasing gardens and flowers. Guests can also enjoy breakfast and evening meals at the Yarde Orchard cafe on the property, which offers good value and delicious food.
There have been some concerns raised about the dog-friendliness of the lodge. Previous guests have felt that the owners were not fully accommodating of dogs, and there were restrictions such as dogs being allowed only in certain areas of the lodge and having to be on leads at all times in the garden.

The lodge was very comfortable and spacious, perfect for a romantic escape. We loved that it was located right on the Tarka Trail, allowing us to easily explore the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, the nearby town of Great Torrington had everything we needed for food and drink, just a short drive away. The feeling of being away from it all, while still being close to North Devon's highlights, was a major plus.
Although advertised as dog-friendly, we were disappointed to find that the owners were not very welcoming towards our furry friends. The restrictions on where the dogs could be in the lodge and garden made it difficult for us to relax and enjoy our stay.

The 2-Bed Lodge with direct access to the Tarka trail was absolutely amazing! The room had a balcony where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Plus, having free WiFi was a big bonus for us to share our adventures on social media. We loved it!
Personally, I feel like the lack of a karaoke system was a small letdown for someone like me who loves to sing. But hey, others might not really care about it anyway.
